Trinidad Correctional Facility (TCF), situated 15 miles east of Trinidad, Colorado on State Highway 350, spans 544 acres and has been operational since December 2001. Currently, it is designed to accommodate up to 500 inmates and functions as a Level 2 Minimum Restrictive facility. These programs include academic courses such as: General Education Diploma (GED) and college courses through Trinidad State College and the Second Chance Pell Grant program, specialized vocational training, and Career & Technical Education opportunities such as Computer Information Systems, Customer Service Academy, Construction, Carpentry, COPERR, IT Essentials/A+, and CCNET.
In addition to vocational training, TCF provides cognitive education programs like Thinking for a Change and Why Try, as well as life skills development programs including 7 Habits on the Inside, Parents on a Mission, Be a Better Dad, and Step-Up. Furthermore, TCF fosters family and community support through various volunteer programs, peer support initiatives, and faith and citizenship programs, all aimed at promoting reintegration and personal development.
