Limon Correctional Facility (LCF) is located on Highway 71, two miles south of the town of Limon, approximately 80 miles east of Denver. The facility sits on 320 acres, 36 acres of which are enclosed behind a 4,000 foot, double-perimeter fence. LCF comprises 13 buildings that provide offender housing and basic services including educational and work opportunities for the offender population. The physical plant encompasses 377,400 square feet.
LCF is a Level IV facility with a capacity of 938 offenders. LCF houses a population of close custody (32.6%), medium and minimum restricted custody (67.3%). Offenders are housed in one of six general population living units which hold between 154 and 160 offenders. There is a total of 720 general population cells, 218 of which are double bunked. A separate Restrictive Housing Unit has an additional 28 cells.
Living Units 1, and 2 are utilized to house close custody offenders. Living Units 3, 4 and 5 houses medium custody general population offenders: Living Unit 6 houses Medium, Minimum Restricted and Minimum custody incentive qualified offenders. Close custody offenders on Restricted Privileges (RP) are housed in Living Unit 2. Medium custody RP offenders are housed in Living Unit 4. Unit 1 B-pod serves as the facility’s restrictive housing overflow as needed.

LCF Visiting has resumed in-person visitation at 100% capacity. To schedule an in-person visit, please call 719-775-8921 Monday - Wednesday: 8:30 AM - 3:30 PM and Thursday: 8:30 AM - 2:30 PM.
Effective November 4, 2023, LCF will resume in-person visiting on Saturdays.

Appointments for visiting inmates are required and may be arranged by calling the direct line to the Visiting Office: (719) 775-8921 between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m., Monday through Wednesday and 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Thursday. Appointments cannot be made more than seven days in advance.
Appointments may also be arranged by sending e-mail request to doc_lcf_visiting@state.co.us and will be processed between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m., Monday through Wednesday and 8:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. on Thursday. Requests received after 3:30 p.m. Monday through Wednesday will be processed the next business day. Requests will be processed in the order they are received. A confirmation e-mail will be sent once your visit has been approved or denied. The name of the individual on the e-mail account must be included for reference. The officer taking the appointment shall verify both the inmate’s and visitor’s eligibility.
