Victim Impact Statements

A Victim Impact Statement is your avenue of informing decision makers in the criminal justice system how your life has been impacted by crime and how you feel about an offender being released back into the community. We realize it may be difficult and stressful to describe in words how your life has been affected.

We encourage victims to write these statements based on the fact that the Parole Board and Community Corrections Boards do not have your statements from court proceedings and are unaware of your perspective.  Your input is valuable.  A Victim Impact Statement provides crucial information in making well-informed decisions.
