New employee orientation is held the first day of each Basic Training (BT).
Upon hire, you will receive an email at your personal email address. This email will include a one‐time link to "Form I‐9 Compliance." Please follow the directions in the email to complete Section 1 of the Employment Eligibility Verification Form (I‐9) electronically. Federal law mandates that CDOC Office of Human Resources officials view original (not copies of) acceptable documents on the first day of employment in order to verify eligibility to work in the United States. You must bring this documentation with you on the first day of Basic Training.
Please note that CDOC participates in the Spanish version of E-Verify.
You MUST bring the following items on the first day of BT:
1. Original acceptable documents for the Employment Eligibility Verification (Form I‐9)
2. Copy of Social Security card (for payroll purposes)
3. Valid Colorado driver's license
4. State agency paystub (if currently employed by a state agency)
