Announcing Our New Partnership with Recidiviz
As we continue to modernize the Colorado Department of Corrections (CDOC), we want to highlight our new and exciting partnership with Recidiviz, a tech nonprofit specializing in criminal justice data integration. This collaboration is not just a technology upgrade; it is a strategic move to reduce the administrative burden on our staff by making our data more actionable and accessible.
Who is Recidiviz? Recidiviz is a team that partners with criminal justice agencies to solve their biggest challenges with technology and data.
Our goal in partnering with Recidiviz is to save time and better support our staff and the people in our care and supervision. By centralizing key information and equipping case managers and parole officers with tools that streamline complex workflows and reduce time spent on administrative tasks.
These tools provide shared internal metrics across facilities and offices, helping us identify best practices and giving supervisors additional tools to monitor effectiveness and support their teams.
Today, we’re excited to announce a major step forward in modernizing our department: our new partnership with Recidiviz and the launch of the new “Opportunities” app.
The "Opportunities" App Integration
The first major tool from this partnership is the Opportunities app on resident tablets. By giving residents information about program availability, their own eligibility and earned time credits, we expect a significant decrease in routine, repetitive inquiries directed at staff.
We believe that by investing in better data, we are investing in a better work-life balance and higher job satisfaction for our frontline teams. We look forward to seeing how these tools help all of us work smarter, not harder.
